Join us for Summer Reading!
The Newhall Public Library will be hosting two programs this summer: one for ages 2-5 and one for ages 6-10.
The Preschool program (ages 2-5) will be on Wednesday mornings at 10am. The program is 8 weeks starting on June 17 and ending on August 5. Each week we will read a book and do a craft relating to each book. We might also have treats, sing a song, or play a game. Lots of fun to be had!
The School Age program (ages 6-10) will be held on Thursday afternoons at 3pm. This program is also 8 weeks long starting on June 18 and ending on August 6. Each week we will play games, do crafts or other activities, have treats, or watch a movie. We will also have a few visitors come throughout the summer to show us what being a hero is all about! Come join in on the fun!
Call 319-223-5510 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP. I would like to know the child's name, age, and favorite superhero!

Here is what we did for projects during the Preschool Winter Reading Program. The kid's crafts looked so cute but it was way too busy for me to get pictures so these are just the ones that I made.
|The picture doesn't even do it justice because there are stacks, but we ended up sending more than 250 cards to Walter Reed Military Medical Center! That is more than enough for all of the soldiers that will be there over Christmas! We would like to give a big Thank You to Atkins Elementary, Central Lutheran School, and all of the individuals who helped us to reach our goal. Merry Christmas everyone!|
Don and Joan Grovert donated the former Grovert Motor Company building to the city of Newhall. Plans are for the building to house the library and city hall as soon as remodeling can be accomplished.
